During a public interaction in Rayadurgam as part of his ‘Babu Surety-Bhavisyathuku Guarantee’ yatra in Anantapur, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Income Tax notices served to him and the demands from the ruling YSRC party for a response. In a fiery statement, Naidu accused the government of fabricating false cases against him and suggested that his arrest may be imminent.
Naidu made these sensational comments while engaging with intellectuals and elites, claiming that the YSRC party was resorting to violence against TDP members who were standing up to the government on public issues.
He further argued that baseless allegations were being hurled at him and his party, highlighting an incident in Angallu where an attempt on his life was made while he was inspecting irrigation projects. According to Naidu, they even charged him under Section 307 of the IPC and pressured Challa Babu to provide a false confession implicating him.
Referring to Jagan Mohan Reddy as a ‘psycho,’ Naidu asserted that cases were being filed against those who questioned the government’s actions. He mentioned the case of Nagendra, who approached the NGT regarding illegal sand mining, and suggested that his own arrest might occur within a day or two. Naidu pledged to defend not only the individuals facing false charges but also himself and the state.
Naidu highlighted his 45-year-long political career, emphasizing that there were no blemishes on his record and no substantial evidence to support the allegations against him. He even recalled that the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had initiated multiple inquiries against him without finding any wrongdoing, asserting that YSR had been as untainted as fire.
