In a dramatic incident, seven teenagers were arrested in Dublin during the early hours of Saturday morning following a high-speed car chase. Gardaí pursued a stolen car in the Balbriggan area. Despite attempts to stop the vehicle, the driver continued to evade the police’s instructions.
To bring the situation under control, Gardaí initiated a managed containment operation. The stolen car is currently undergoing technical examination by experts. Subsequently, the seven arrested teenagers have been released from Garda custody.
A spokesperson for the Garda stated, “Gardaí in Ballymun arrested seven teenage juveniles in relation to the theft of a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday, 9th September 2023. Gardaí observed the stolen car in Balbriggan and signaled for the car to stop. The car failed to stop for Gardaí, and a managed containment operation was put in place. The vehicle was pursued and apprehended by Gardaí in the Dublin 1 area. The car is currently subject to a technical examination. Seven teenage juveniles were arrested and later released from Garda custody pending referrals to the Garda Youth Diversion Bureau.”
