Elon Musk has officially confirmed the arrival of his third child with Canadian singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. While a Twitter post referencing an upcoming biography on Musk initially stated that the child’s name was “Techno Mechanicus,” Musk clarified by responding to the post that the name is actually “Tau Techno Mechanicus.”
Much like the unique names of their previous two children, this moniker appears to reflect a blend of both parents’ interests and inclinations. Musk provided some insight into the possible meaning behind the new child’s name, suggesting “Circumference/Diameter.” In mathematics, Tau represents the ratio between the circumference and radius of a circle.
While the exact meanings of the remaining parts of the name remain undisclosed, “Tecno” could be a reference to the popular music genre, and “Mechanicus” might derive from Musk’s fascination with mechanics. The child’s age and birthday have not been revealed at this time.
Elon Musk and Grimes are now parents to three children: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, and Tau Techno Mechanicus. With the addition of Tau, Musk now has a total of 10 biological children.
The upcoming biography on Elon Musk, authored by Walter Isaacson, is set to be released on September 12. Excerpts from the book have already shed light on Musk’s personal life, previously shrouded in mystery, as well as his remarkable journey as an entrepreneur and businessman.
