Tragedy struck in Florida as a helicopter crashed into an apartment complex, resulting in the loss of two lives. The incident occurred near the Pompano Beach Airpark on a Monday morning, just before 9 AM local time, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The fire-rescue helicopter was carrying three individuals when the crash occurred. Sadly, Broward Sheriff’s Office Captain Terryson Jackson, aged 50, lost his life in the crash. Additionally, a second individual on the ground also perished, as reported by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Disturbing video footage shared online depicts flames emerging from the helicopter’s midsection, followed by a lengthy trail of smoke. The helicopter seems to fragment before spiraling and descending towards the ground. Initial reports indicated that two crew members from the helicopter and two civilians on the ground were transported to a hospital, all reported to be in stable condition.
The fire rescue helicopter was en route to an incident in North Lauderdale when the tragic event occurred. The location of Pompano Beach is situated approximately 40 miles north of Miami.”
