KBC 15 Shocker: Jaskaran Singh Quits with Rs 1 Crore, Leaves Rs 7 Crore Question Unanswered!

In a captivating episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, contestant Jaskaran Singh, a 21-year-old hailing from the humble village of Khalra in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, made history as the first ‘crorepati’ of the season, hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. On Teacher’s Day 2023, Jaskaran Singh achieved the coveted crore milestone on the iconic quiz show.

While Jaskaran Singh managed to secure a remarkable Rs 1 crore on the show, his journey was marked by a dramatic twist when he faced the Rs 7 crore question, ultimately choosing to exit the game due to uncertainty.

The Rs 7 crore question that made Jaskaran Singh ponder was: “According to the Padma Purana, which king had to live as a tiger for a hundred years due to a deer’s curse?” The options presented were: A- Kshemadhurti, B- Dharmadatta, C-Mitadhvaja, D- Prabhanjana. The correct answer, D- Prabhanjana, eluded Jaskaran Singh, leading to his exit from the game.

However, on his way to glory, Jaskaran Singh answered the Rs 1 crore question with precision. The question was, “Who was the Viceroy of India when the capital of India was shifted from Calcutta to Delhi?” The choices offered were: A. Lord Curzon, B. Lord Hardinge, C. Lord Minto, D. Lord Read Reading. Utilizing a lifeline, he confidently selected option B, Lord Hardinge, securing the coveted Rs 1 crore prize.

Jaskaran Singh, who aspires to serve in the civil services, had been striving to participate in the show for four years before finally making it to the KBC 15 stage.

Following Jaskaran Singh’s remarkable journey and departure with the Rs 1 crore prize, the next contestant, Ashwani Kumar, took center stage. Ashwani hails from a joint family of 23 members residing under one roof.

As Ashwani prepared to answer questions, a family photo was displayed, showing women standing behind the seated men with their heads covered. Noticing this, host Amitabh Bachchan playfully commented, “I have one complaint. Why are all the women standing at the back?” To which the contestant responded, “It’s nothing like that.” Amused, Big B added, “A woman’s place is in the front. They should be sitting, and all the men should be standing at the back. Next time, go home and change the picture. I will ask you later. I am not speaking lightly.
