Tragic Road Collision Claims Cyclist’s Life in Kerry: Woman Arrested

A tragic road incident in Kerry has claimed the life of a cyclist. The collision, involving a car and a bicycle, occurred on the Killorglin to Cromane Road in Co. Kerry this morning. Emergency services and Gardaí rushed to the scene. Regrettably, the male cyclist, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been transferred to University Hospital Kerry, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.

In response to the incident, a woman in her 20s has been taken into custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Kerry Region. As investigators work diligently, the road remains closed for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward with information. Furthermore, they are appealing to road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, and were traveling on the Killorglin to Cromane Road between 8:20 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. this morning to share this footage with Gardaí.
